I got the change to share one my skill and knowledge that I always find out to be exciting, fun, and cool since first time I knew about art – fashion drawing-to the 3rd year students of Vita School’s junior high. It is something that I’m definitely, obviously, 100% good at, since I never get along with Maths, Physics, or anything that related to the exact Science. Anyway for the two days short course of Fashion Drawing I’m not all alone, I’ve got Esa and Astha accompanying me to teach the class. Day #1 we’re sharing hot to draw a fashion figure based on the 9 heads Croquis. Never have difficulties when guiding 14 ultra energized 16th year old teenagers, I mean what could be worse? They’ re just loud and sometimes need some effort to get their attentions , that’s all. Nothing serious. We’ll just have to have a big heart and take it easy.
The second day we teach them how to draw fashion illustration with their personal touches, bring out strong character on their drawing. Laura Laine’s, Paper Fashion’s and some Deviant Art artists artworks used as the examples. The students start to make their own masterpieces with paper or fabric collage, put some glitters and even real flowers to complete it. Never really thought that they actually pull it off..good job girls, we’re feeling appreciated and we appreciate every effort you guys do.
We collect all the artworks and we’re so proud of them..can’t wait for the next class, hope we’re ‘trusted’ again to teach the senior high. Thanks Vita School for the opportunity.
On saturday Ricardo Damanik, founder of Reds Agency shared his knowledge about modeling, previously PISON featured Nicoline Patricia, fashion photographer, talking about tips and trick on how to become a great fashion photographer. Never thought that these fashion master minds both born in Surabaya,I’m so proud to be its citizen

We will still be
The song ‘Graduation’ from Vitamin C keeps rolling in my head as I, hubby and my folks go to Bandung to attend my master grad ceremony at Sabuga…finally it’s officially M.Ds (Magister Desain).
Another is to get some retreat from work, releasing stress with indulging foods, going sidewalks at the city, or simply feeling the cool breeze weather coming from the mountains that surround it. But sad 🙁 I forgot to capture them..Anyway for this ‘big event’ I decided that I’m not going to use professionals to do the make up, simply to save more money to buy the make up tools for my own, besides I think I have a good taste and skill on doing this thing, I’m pretty sure about it, but that means I have to get up earlier to do it on myself first before I help mom too..no worries, I got this..
That’s me..right at this time I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest, feel so excited and nervous at the same time, it’s overwhelming..I’m on my feet proudly whispering to myself…A Cum Laude..you’re rock!!
It’s cliche but this event is the important moment to me, for most people too I believe, so why not I preserve it in a conventional way in paper formats. Some preserving moments in a digital way, however it’s still part of Kodak culture that we can’t never change completely, digital technology is complementing it. We have apps, digital album storage, sharing and tagging in social media yet at the same time keeping the shoe box full of photo papers of our ‘best’ moments or scrapbooks with photo clips inside it, anyway these are some the best moment taken during and after the event..
Well..that is that my graduation event..so excited..so missing it..
We went to the opening of Mooi Indie photo exhibition at Spazio, a sociohistorical culture event featuring ‘Portrait of Life’ of Jean Demmeni, curated by archivist from ANRI (Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia) Mona Lohanda, Ph.D who also a historian focusing on Batavia or we call it today as Jakarta. Jean was a government photographer from Netherlands. Equipped and privileged by the government she managed to capture colonialism in Indonesia back then around 1866-1939. Her works representing the condition of modernization and industrialization Dutch brought into this country, from agricultural to factories, seafaring and trading.
Overall these works showed that ‘de Nederlanders’ domineered ‘de inlanders’ but at the same time they made them civilized. Jean also documented the beauty of landscapes and human interests of the native land-a Mooi Indie.
When seeing to these photographs it is so mind boggling we wondered how at the time Indonesia became so industrialized and modernized that somehow nowadays our beloved country is supposed to be standing side by side with Korean, Japan or maybe China, but unfortunately the reality tells otherwise.
In the meantime by continuously reflecting ourselves with the past we can learn lessons as an improvement to the way of thinking, acting and seeing the world around us for the better future.
The whole show was amusing, after several welcome speeches including from Mrs. Mona Lohanda herself , the guests were welcomed to enjoy the complements of the event, while listening to the traditional music of Keroncong we mingled with other guests eating authentic cuisine of the Inlander heritage..siomay Bandung, satai and ‘bubur kendil’ Madura..perfect!
I’m starting to writing again after a long long months break, mainly because I don’t have any cameras coz I’ve decided to leave them in Surabaya..stay in Bandung apparently will make them musty specially its lens, secondly I don’t have a tripod to support it. This duo will work best capture my entire look for daily wear category in this blog, and to be more creative in exploring still life object such as foods, stuffs, my make up hauls, etc. BUT Now, I have em all, so that means, I can freely write again.
anyway,it’s my first posting in this year, surely I missed a lot of big events; Christmas, the ‘counting down’ towards the new year, the very first day of 2014 and many things that happened in between. Oh and also a new house, where me and hubby still on going to furnish it-that’ll be another post about designing the interior-but on Saturday in our escape to Kawah Putih-60 km way from Bandung, we went to Ciwidey by motor cycle we rent and it was fun-adrenalin pumping. It took for about 3 hours but then only 2 hours when we went back to Bandung because of another path we took..enough said these are my precious memories I captured from the adventure land of Kawah Putih..enjoy!
caught a lunch at Bale Bambu 11 km before Kawah Putih
Fashion is neither just apparel or things that you wear, in this term accessories like necklace, bangles, earings, even glasses, more over it's seen as you entirely from head to toe, include your attitude. Fashion reflects your inner self, it's very you and personal..so whatever you are, when you apply it to your fashion, you let people see what are you deep inside implicitly. Then the "don't judge book by its cover" might not always be right.
